Monday, December 7th

  Upcoming this week: 2nd grade spelling: running, clapped, stopped, hopping, batted, selling, pinning, cutting, sitting, rubbed, missed, grabbed  Review Words: mixed, going 3rd grade spelling: air, wear, chair, stairs, bare, bear, hair, care, pear, pair, share, near, ear, beard Challenge Words: earring, compare We will take our pretest on Wednesday. We will take a 2nd test on Friday. If the students get a 100% on Wednesday, they will not need to take the test again on Friday. Please return homework folders on Monday. Library is on Tuesday. Show and Tell is on Wednesday. We have counted 6,600 pop tabs so far this year. We have ran 347.25 miles. We passed Scotsbluff last week. We will go through Mitchell, NE today. Then we will be heading towards Morrill, NE. Friday, December 4th

  Wow! We have been doing so many things. This week we finished our month of NaNoWriMo. So many words were written this month. We had 8 of the 10 students make their word count goals. Several of these students made their goal early in the month and raised their goals. Great job everyone. We ended up with over 50,000 words written in the month of November. On Friday we all got together to share some of our writing that we did during November. It was great hearing some of the stories that the students came up with. Along with this, we are just finishing up the pictures in our Stuffed Animal stories. During November we were focused more on words than the pictures. So hopefully this week we will get the last of our picture pages finished and be able to have all of our Stuffed Animal picture books ready to go. We also made some ornaments to hang on the HLS Christmas tree at the Plainsman Museum. Then on Saturday the teachers went over and put up our tree. There are some pretty beautiful...
