Friday, September 25th

 

We are learning about the different types of rocks and erosion in science. We did a little rock collecting on the playground. We also created a tiny river and watched it wear down the hill and create a canyon.



We are learning about a new artist this month, Henri Matisse. I can't wait to see what our projects look like. We will be finishing up with coding in Scratch next week. 


3rd grade as started multiplication. Wow, this is huge! Braden is so excited. We have now added adjectives to the parts of speech that we know in grammar. They are really great at finding the subject noun, verbs, and adverbs in a sentence. We have finished our adventure in Canada (besides our virtual run to Canada) and we have started to learn about Sweden.


We will be doing MAPs testing next week.


Our daily run has changed from something they just have to do, to something they are excited about. It has been amazing to watch them over the weeks that we have been in school. Every one of the students has improved their time of the 2 laps (around the block) that we do every day. And now, that we have a goal set for 'where we are running to, they are all excited about our virtual run to Canada. We have even had a few of the students run an extra lap or two, just so that we could get farther.
