It is NaNoWriMo Time! We are all writing like crazy. Everyone is trying to get to their word count goals. By the end of the week the HLS students had already written over 7,000 words!

Along with this writing 2nd-3rd has started (or some of them) finished their Stuffed Animal stories. We quickly discovered that this is very separate from NaNoWriMo because drawing all of the pictures slows down our writing word count goals. I can't wait to hear their stuffed animal stories. They have already been asking when we will be sharing them.

In Grammar we added prepositions to the types of words we are working with. This week we will be searching for prepositional phrases.

We worked with our STEM/tech teams to build heat shields for our Mars project. We tested our heat shields by placing a piece of chocolate inside of our device.  Our heat source was a hair dryer. We learned the multiple layers works best, and foil is better than paper.
